
ANTI-RACISM
Racism is a function of ignorance. If we agree that no one is born with racist beliefs and that it is learned, what would be the solution to someone who literally “doesn’t know better”?.
Real Talk believes the best way to remedy misinformation or faulty knowledge is to impart balanced and accurate information as a way of counteracting a lack of knowledge or disproving biases. Human beings have a tremendous capacity to assess what they perceive as differences and use those differences to create generalizations about others. We rarely observe similarities and see underlying commonalties that might show that we are all far more similar than we might think and that even differences are good. Diversity in all facets of humanity, whether physical, cultural, ethnic or otherwise, is a way for societies to grow and evolve into better societies that embrace both our connectedness and peculiarities.
